Privacy Policy
Last updated: .
This Privacy Policy describes how alftanet.com ("Alftanet", "we", "us") handles information when you play our browser games and use this site. Alftanet is a small, independent games site. We try to collect as little as possible, and we never sell your personal information.
Information we collect
- Leaderboard data: when you choose to submit a score, we store the display name you type and your score. This is optional — you can play every game without submitting anything. Because leaderboards are public, please don't use personal information as your display name.
- Analytics: we use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (a self-hosted Umami instance) to count visits and see aggregated trends such as page views, approximate country, and referring site. These statistics are anonymous and are not used to identify you.
- Local storage: your personal best scores and game settings (such as whether music is muted) are saved in your own browser's local storage, not on our servers. Clearing your browser data removes them.
- Server logs: like most websites, our servers may briefly record standard technical request data (such as IP address, browser type, and time of request) for security and to keep the service running. We do not use these logs to build profiles of visitors.
Cookies and advertising
This site is supported by advertising. We may display ads served by Google AdSense. To do this, Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info (US) or youronlinechoices.eu (EU).
For more on how Google uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps, see Google's Privacy & Terms and Google's advertising policies. Aside from the advertising and analytics described here, this site does not set tracking cookies of its own.
Consent (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
If you are visiting from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before serving personalized ads, using Google's certified consent management platform. You may change or withdraw your consent at any time; you can also manage choices through the controls linked above. Where required, our lawful basis for processing is your consent and our legitimate interest in operating and funding a free site.
Your rights and choices
- You can play without submitting any score or personal data.
- You can clear your browser's local storage and cookies at any time.
- You can limit or disable ad personalization via the settings linked above.
- Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, email us at the address below.
- We do not sell your personal information.
Data retention
Submitted leaderboard entries (display name and score) are kept so that leaderboards remain meaningful, and may be removed on request or when we reset a board. Aggregated, anonymous analytics may be retained indefinitely. Local storage stays on your device until you clear it.
Children
Our games are suitable for a general audience and are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
